Hello Friends!

Hey, it’s Kaycee!
Welcome to my corner of the interwebs. Here you’ll always find something fun, uplifting, or encouraging. We need more positivity in this world and I’m all here for it! When I’m not writing, I’m probably hosting a podcast nerding out about the Hearties or POstables. You can also find me wrangling two energetic preschoolers, while also attempting not to burn something in the kitchen.

It wasn’t cold enough for snow in Pigeon Forge l It wasn’t cold enough for snow in Pigeon Forge last week, so we took the girls to @pigeonforgesnow to play in some snow. Not gonna lie, I laughed because my little Florida babes didn’t know what to do with themselves! 🤣☃️ Dan and I were dying to go snow tubing because that looked like so much fun. Can’t wait to go back!

In current news, the weather is totally CRAZY right now! We woke up to 20 degree weather in NWFL and it looks like my Midwest friends are getting pummeled with snow. (Seriously, who ticked Elsa off?!) Y’all stay safe! 💙❄️

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Friday y’all! What are your weekend plans?
Walking into a new week like a boss! 💪🏼 The Walking into a new week like a boss! 💪🏼 The last few days have been such a hot mess since 3 out of 4 of us caught the stomach bug. (Y’all pray I don’t catch this!!) But we seem to be on the mend today and are ready for an exciting week!

Happy Sunday, friends!
It arrived a couple of days late, but it’s final It arrived a couple of days late, but it’s finally here! I’m so excited to dig in and read “That Sounds Fun” by the fabulous @anniefdowns. Her podcast by the same name is so great and I’ve been a fan for several years now. ☺️ And, I just have to say that Annie is hashtag goals when it comes to interviewing people— the way she navigates different perspectives is so refreshing especially in a season of diversity. 🎙

Hello. It’s me. Okay, I won’t be belting out Hello. It’s me.
Okay, I won’t be belting out in Adele, as fun as that would be. I just wanted to pop in and say hello!! It’s been a while since I’ve done a Friday Introduction... so here are some fun and random facts about me:

1️⃣ I’ve been to all four corners on the US— West Palm Beach, FL; Island Falls, ME; Seattle, WA; and San Diego, CA.
2️⃣ One of our wedding processional songs was the Anne Theme from Anne of Green Gables... because I’m obsessed. Dan’s lucky When Calls the Heart wasn’t a thing in 2012... I might have chosen the Jack and Elizabeth song as the recessional. 👀😆
3️⃣ Speaking of Dan, we’ve been together for 13 years this September and married for 9 years in May.
4️⃣ I am allergic to melons. 🍉 This makes me super sad... because FOMO. (kidding.)
5️⃣ While I have always loved home design and @hgtv, I can’t style my home for the life of me. Send help. Seriously.
6️⃣ People are most surprised to find out that I have an eclectic taste in music. I just like all of the decades! Put on an 80s love song and I’ll be the annoying carpool kareoke girl. *cues Total Eclipse of the Heart*

It’s your turn! Tell me a fun random fact about you and let’s be friends! 💜
Today is a unique day. For the first time in the h Today is a unique day. For the first time in the history of the US, we will not only have a woman in the White House, but also one who is of Asian American descent. As a first-generation born Asian American, it’s actually pretty inspiring to see. And I look forward to learning more about Kamala Harris and to truly look deeper than her political party.

If you know me well, you know that I am solidly independent as I lean more moderately in some ways and more conservative in others. I’ve never been a real fan of either party either because while I see fault on both sides, I also see their POVs. (enneagram 9 probs Lol)

All that to say, I respect the office regardless who has been in it. And I respect the people holding that office. My trust has never been in our country or in anyone who has held the title “President.” Why? Because my trust has been in Christ. The Lord has orchestrated every moment including this moment. It is through Christ that we will find peace and rest. It is through Christ that we will discover change and growth. It is through Christ alone who will redeem us.

So, to my friends who may be nervous about the future, take heart and know that God is in control. Be a kingdom builder and not a culture warrior. Tune out the noise and keep your eyes on Christ. ❤️

2021. It feels weird saying it out loud, but here 2021. It feels weird saying it out loud, but here we are. Last year seemed like a dumpster fire in so many ways. I just hope and pray that we’ve learned from that. I pray that we love our neighbors better than we have. That we are slower to speak and faster to listen. That we soak up and relish the time we have with loved ones. That we extend more grace to those around us. That we enjoy the simple joys of our life and not envy the social media perfect lives of others. That we exude kindness above all else. Here’s to 2021. May it be better than the last. Happy New Year. 💛
