We’re finally getting the Goodness & Grace Project series kicked off and I am very excited to introduce you to my first guest, Jess, blogger and reviewer at Beneath Still Waters. Jess and I met through our mutual love for the Hallmark series Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Earlier this year, she officially joined as one of the Hallmarkies Podcast hosts earlier this year. I also have to say that it has been such a blast working with Jess on our spin-off podcast, Deliver Me a Podcast. Jess has become one of my really good friends and I hope you enjoy our little “chat” below.

Get to Know Jess
Q: Introduce yourself
A: Hello! I’m Jess, a scientist about to be turned teacher in Indiana. I am also a co-host of the Hallmarkies Podcast (including spin-offs Deliver Me a Podcast and Once Upon an UPside) and a blogger/reviewer at Beneath Still Waters.
Q: Share a lesson or something you’ve learned recently.
A: It’s not technically recent, but it’s a lesson that’s been on my heart lately. It’s actually a phrase from Hallmark’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered– “trust the timing.” I’ve known for a while that God was calling me to a career change, but I had to wait for Him and His timing on when to actually take that leap. I’m not good at the whole patience thing, but somehow I was able to truly let go and give the whole thing to Him. It took nearly a year of waiting, but then He literally dropped my dream job into my lap. Good things happen when you #TrustTheTiming!
Q: What’s bringing you goodness and joy these days?
A: My life’s still pretty crazy right now, even with quarantine, but I’ve been able to really branch out, explore, and jump back into some hobbies. I’ve done a ton of podcasting and one of the highlights of 2020 has been growing in friendship with the other co-hosts. I’m also an equestrian and love riding horses. Riding literally melts all of my worries, anxieties, and burdens away. Horses are great teachers and I’m always challenged in new ways.
Q: What helps you stay positive and joyful?
A: Music, books, binging Hallmark movies, being in nature, working on creative projects (art, writing, podcasting, etc.) and snuggling with my cats!

And Just for Fun:
Q: What song have you had on repeat lately?
A: “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman. It has such a great musical score!
Q: Recommend your best feel-good tv show/movie/book.
A: Signed, Sealed, Delivered!
Q: Recommend one must-have item you can’t live without.
A: Do my cats count? Oh, a serious answer. Hmmm, probably my laptop and books.
Q: Best comfort food.
A: Pizza. Hands down. And I have a mini obsession with McDonald’s Coke. It’s way better than any other Coke, trust me.
Q: Favorite ice cream brand and/or flavor.
A: Ben and Jerry’s (any of theirs with cheesecake!) and Halo Top Peanut Butter Cup.
Thanks for joining me, today Jess! Your reminder to “trust the timing” is absolutely on point. And I have so say, The Greatest Showman soundtrack is often on repeat in my home office.
